What You'll Do

• Take responsibility for the end-to-end thermal design of optical radar/laser scanning and related sensor products, encompassing solution development, simulation, optimisation, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical, hardware, materials, optics, and process engineering to ensure seamless integration and ongoing enhancement of thermal solutions.
• Stay informed about the latest trends and technological advancements in thermal management by conducting focused research on emerging thermal-related technologies.
• Support the continuous improvement of product thermal performance by implementing best practices in design and validation processes.
• Utilise advanced thermal simulation tools to model heat transfer scenarios and predict system behaviour under various operating conditions.
• Perform hands-on thermal testing, measurement, and validation activities to verify design assumptions and ensure compliance with stringent reliability standards.
• Identify potential reliability issues related to thermal performance early in the development process and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Document all aspects of the thermal design process clearly and thoroughly to facilitate knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
  
  

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Engineering Thermophysics, Energy & Power Engineering or a closely related discipline is required for this role.
• A minimum of two years’ experience working on electronic product thermal design projects is essential for success in this position.
• Comprehensive understanding of heat transfer fundamentals along with familiarity with both passive/natural cooling methods and active cooling techniques is necessary.
• Proficiency in at least one recognised thermal simulation tool is expected; hands-on experience with ANSYS Icepak would be highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to perform detailed thermal testing, measurement, and validation activities as part of an engineering team is important.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders across regions.
• Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional engineering teams is highly desirable for this position.
• A proactive approach towards researching new developments in thermal management technologies will be beneficial.
