Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibility:

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for construction and civil engineering projects.
  • Carry out quantity take-offs and measurement of construction works, materials and labour requirements.
  • Prepare, review and evaluate quotations, tenders and subcontractor submissions.
  • Assist in tender preparation, tender pricing and submission.
  • Monitor project costs and expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Conduct site visits to assess and verify the value and progress of works completed.
  • Prepare and submit progress claims and valuations for interim payments.
  • Assess subcontractors' progress claims and prepare payment recommendations, where applicable.
  • Identify, evaluate and prepare variation claims arising from changes to the original scope of works.
  • Maintain proper records of measurements, variations, claims and project costs.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, project managers, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Analyse and compare the costs of alternative construction methods and materials, where required.
  • Prepare, negotiate and reconcile final accounts with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
  • Assist in contract administration and perform other quantity surveying duties relating to assigned projects.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building or a relevant construction-related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience in Singapore.
  • Good knowledge of construction costing, quantity measurement, tendering, progress claims, variations and contract administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM will be an advantage.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Meticulous, responsible and conscientious in carrying out assigned duties.
  • * Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and project teams.
