Senior Platform Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer with strong hands-on experience in platform architecture, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, DevOps, infrastructure automation, security and data platforms.

The role will be responsible for designing, implementing and continuously improving scalable, secure and resilient cloud, hybrid-cloud and on-premises platforms supporting enterprise applications and technology services.

The successful candidate should be equally comfortable with architecture and hands-on engineering, taking solutions from design through implementation and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, resilient and secure cloud-native, hybrid-cloud and on-premises platform architectures.
• Define enterprise architectural standards and reusable patterns covering Kubernetes, microservices, event-driven architecture, integration and data platforms.
• Design, implement and continuously evolve Kubernetes platforms across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Work hands-on with AWS EKS, ECS, Docker and Helm for containerized application platforms.
• Drive platform modernization through infrastructure automation, deployment automation and engineering best practices.
• Design and implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka (KRaft) and RabbitMQ.
• Design and implement enterprise CI/CD and DevOps frameworks using Jenkins, ArgoCD and GitLab CI/CD.
• Establish secure and reliable deployment strategies aligned with DevSecOps and enterprise governance requirements.
• Design secure platform architectures incorporating OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, SSO and IAM.
• Configure and integrate Keycloak, Oracle IDMS/OAM, Kerberos-based Windows Native Authentication, Active Directory and LDAP.
• Implement RBAC, group-to-role mappings, authorization policies and identity federation.
• Define and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, Chef or equivalent tools.
• Design and manage enterprise database platforms including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and Trino.
• Implement high-availability database architectures, replication, backup/recovery and disaster recovery strategies.
• Support data platforms for transactional processing, distributed data management, enterprise search, analytics and reporting.
• Work with Microsoft Power BI and enterprise data platforms where required.
• Lead architecture discussions and technical design reviews with engineering, infrastructure, security and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on with implementation, troubleshooting and operational support.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in Platform Architecture and Engineering.
• Strong experience with cloud-native and hybrid-cloud architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker and Helm.
• Strong experience with AWS, preferably EKS and ECS.
• Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience with Jenkins, ArgoCD or GitLab CI/CD.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka/KRaft and RabbitMQ.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, Ansible, Chef or equivalent.
• Experience with VMware ESXi and vSphere and enterprise on-premises environments.
• Strong security and identity experience involving OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, SSO and IAM.
• Hands-on experience with Keycloak, Oracle IDMS/OAM or Kerberos-based WNA.
• Experience integrating Active Directory/LDAP with IAM platforms.
• Strong experience with RBAC, authorization policies and identity federation.
• Strong data platform experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and Trino.
• Experience with high-availability database architecture, replication, backup/recovery and DR.
• Strong programming/automation skills in Python, Shell and Java.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Strong understanding of security, resiliency, high availability, performance and scalability.
• Ability to balance architecture governance with hands-on delivery.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Pay: $3,000.00 - $10,000.00 per month
