Role Overview
This role is responsible for leading PMW International Berhad's Buildcore Business Unit across Peninsular Malaysia, driving sustainable business growth, operational excellence, and market leadership.
As the regional business leader, the incumbent will have full accountability for the commercial performance and profitability of the East Malaysia Region, while expanding PMW's presence in infrastructure, utilities, industrial, government, and property development sectors.
The role requires a commercially aggressive, results-oriented executive with extensive experience in construction materials, precast concrete, spun concrete poles, spun concrete piles, and infrastructure products. The successful candidate will lead business development, strengthen strategic partnerships, oversee regional operations, and ensure PMW Buildcore remains the preferred infrastructure solutions provider in East Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Business Growth
- Develop and execute the regional business strategy aligned with the Group's corporate objectives and Buildcore Business Unit strategy.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion throughout Peninsular Malaysia.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across infrastructure, utilities, industrial, telecommunications, renewable energy, rail, highways, and property development sectors.
- Lead strategic initiatives including market penetration, new product development, capacity expansion, and strategic partnerships.
2. Business Development & Key Account Management
- Develop strong relationships with key customers, developers, consultants, contractors, utilities, government agencies, GLCs, and industry associates.
- Lead major tender submissions, commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, and long-term framework agreements.
- Represent PMW Buildcore in strategic industry events, networking forums, and high-level customer engagements.
3. Commercial & Financial Leadership
- Assume full Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability for the East Malaysia Region.
- Prepare annual business plans, regional budgets, sales forecasts, and capital expenditure plans.
- Drive margin improvement through disciplined pricing, cost optimisation, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor sales performance, project profitability, cash collection, working capital, and business risks.
- Deliver sustainable financial performance in line with the Group's strategic objectives.
4. Operations & Supply Chain Management
- Work closely with manufacturing plants (Kota Kinabalu) & Ipoh HQ to ensure production capacity meets market demand.
- Closely coordinate with Operations, Production, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure timely product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement in production efficiency, quality, supply chain performance, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, safety, environmental, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with internal Business Units to maximise cross-selling opportunities and deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
6. Leadership & Organisational Development
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing commercial and operations team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Develop succession plans and strengthen leadership capabilities within the Buildcore Business Unit.
- Promote alignment with PMW Vision, Mission & Core Values (PROUD).
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related discipline.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
Professional Experience/requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of progressive experience within construction materials, precast concrete, heavy manufacturing, infrastructure, or engineering industries.
- Minimum 8 years in senior management or General Management roles with full commercial accountability.
- Proven experience in Bursa Malaysia listed companies/MNC is highly preferred.
- Strong experience managing regional business growth, P&L, strategic planning, and commercial operations.

- Willingness and readiness to travel extensively to the assigned region and to plant and HQ office.
