Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and inspect piling works, including bored piles, driven piles, micropiles, diaphragm walls, and pile load testing, in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor excavation and Earth Retaining and Stabilizing Structure (ERSS) works, including instrumentation and geotechnical monitoring, to ensure compliance with approved designs and safety requirements.
  • Supervise structural works including pile caps, ground beams, reinforced concrete structures, retaining walls, slabs, columns, beams, staircases, and precast components.
  • Inspect reinforcement, formwork, concreting, grouting, structural connections, and post-construction works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and quality standards.
  • Witness and verify material testing, including concrete cube tests, reinforcement steel tests, soil investigations, waterproofing tests, and other required quality-control tests.
  • Supervise architectural works including masonry, plastering, screeding, tiling, painting, ceiling systems, façade, roofing, and other finishing works.
  • Monitor waterproofing installations for toilets, wet areas, basements, roofs, water tanks, façades, and other critical areas, including required testing and inspections.
  • Supervise external infrastructure works including roads, driveways, footpaths, covered linkways, drop-off porches, drainage systems, culverts, detention tanks, pavilions, and landscape structures.
  • Monitor sewerage works, manholes, drainage pipelines, bedding, connections, testing, and commissioning in accordance with approved drawings and statutory requirements.
  • Supervise civil and infrastructure works including utility diversions, roadworks, shaft construction, micro-tunnelling, pipe-jacking, and underground services.
  • Review shop drawings, method statements, material submissions, inspection requests, test reports, and other technical documentation for compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and identify defects, non-conformities, unsafe conditions, and deviations from approved drawings and specifications.
  • Report site progress, quality issues, safety concerns, technical matters, and construction activities to the Resident Engineer (RE) and Qualified Person (QP).
  • Assist in verifying contractors’ progress claims, variation works, completed quantities, and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in site meetings, technical discussions, coordination meetings, inspections, testing, and authority-related activities as required.
  • Ensure all site activities are carried out in accordance with applicable Singapore regulations, approved specifications, method statements, risk assessments, and safety requirements.
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities assigned by the RE, QP, or Project Manager in relation to site supervision and project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Accredited Resident Technical Officer (RTO) with IES in Singapore.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant site supervision experience in building, infrastructure, industrial, civil engineering, or related construction projects.
  • Candidates with experience in HDB, Private Residential, Commercial, Industrial, JTC, LTA, MRT, PUB, or other major infrastructure projects will have an advantage.
  • Good working knowledge of structural, civil, architectural, and M&E construction works.
  • Familiar with relevant Singapore standards, regulations, codes, and statutory requirements, including BCA, PUB, LTA, SCDF, MOM, and other applicable authorities.
  • Good knowledge of construction inspection, quality control, testing and commissioning, site coordination, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, responsible, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Willing to work rotational shifts, including weekends and public holidays, depending on project requirements.
