Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, reusable, scalable, and testable application modules and web pages.
  • Lead integration architecture initiatives, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant API communication across microservices and legacy systems.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and Business Analysts to understand business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, quality, security, and best practices.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to support team development.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, system manuals, and standard operating procedures.

Core Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience in Java web application development and API design.
  • Prior experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot, with proven experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
  • Strong SQL development skills with experience in databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or DB2.
  • Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proficiency in Git and modern software development practices.
  • Experience using AI-powered coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Cursor for code generation, development, testing, and code review is an advantage.

Employment Details

  • Salary: Up to RM13,300 per month
  • Contract Duration: 12 months, with potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position
  • Location: Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Kuala Lumpur
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
