The Accounts & Finance Intern supports the Finance function in recording and maintaining accounting transactions, asset and inventory records, and finance reporting across the Company's operations. The role is a supervised learning placement, not an independent operational role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Finance Operations
- Assist in daily accounting and finance operations.
- Assist in posting bank transactions and expenses into the accounting system (QuickBooks) based on supporting documents.
- Assist in recording accounting transactions and maintaining proper supporting records.
- Assist in ensuring supporting documents are complete and properly maintained for accounting and finance transactions.
- Account Executive will review and verify the accuracy of account classification and Chart of Accounts (COA) used for the transactions.
2. Asset Management
- Assist in preparing and updating the company’s asset listing.
- Assist in identifying and categorising assets based on the company’s capitalisation threshold.
- Assist in updating the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation records for assets that meet the capitalisation threshold.
- Assist in checking the asset listing against the physical assets and highlight any missing or differences.
3. Inventory & Materials Management
- Assist in reviewing inventory and material records prepared by the Supply Chain Team.
- Verify recorded quantities and movements of inventory items, including hardware, cabin materials and other related items, against supporting documents and available records.
- Cross-check inventory data for completeness, accuracy and consistency.
- Highlight and report any discrepancies, shortages or excesses identified during the checking process.
4. Reporting & Other Tasks
- Assist in month-end closing, account reconciliation and preparation of finance reports.
- Assist in audit and finance documentation.
- Maintain proper filing of finance records.
- Perform other ad-hoc finance tasks as required.
Key Skills & Attributes
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets; exposure to QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
- Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Responsible and able to work independently and as part of a team, under supervision.
Pay: RM600.00 - RM800.00 per month
