The Engine Overhaul business has the capability to service all products in the Trent engine family, this includes Trent 500, Trent 700, Trent 800, Trent 900, Trent 1000 and Trent XWB; SAESL is the only Trent engine MRO that can support all product variants. The Engine Overhaul business has the capacity to repair and overhaul over 300 Trent engines per year and it is equipped with a state-of-the-art Engine Test Facility that supports our best-in-class engine turnaround times.

Job Summary
Perform Manufacturing Engineering activities within Component Repair production areas to ensure the initial and ongoing capability of production methods to consistently deliver conforming products. Provide technical support to resolve manufacturing issues and drive continuous improvement to meet Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery (SQCD) objectives. Support the integration of Manufacturing Engineering activities across the product lifecycle and throughout the supply chain.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify, assess and mitigate product safety risks in accordance with the Company's Safety Management System and Zero Harm programme to achieve the required safety standards.
- Drive a zero-defect culture by developing, implementing and sustaining manufacturing processes and methods that support Right First Time (RFT) principles.
- Support process and product quality investigations, and manage the technical aspects of NADCAP accreditation for special processes, including plasma spray and coatings.
- Ensure compliance with product safety, quality and manufacturing standards within the area of accountability.
- Apply SAESL Production System (SPS), DMAIC, Lean and systems engineering methodologies to improve delivery performance, enhance process capability and reduce Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ).
- Collaborate with suppliers, production teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deploy, sustain and continuously improve SAESL Operating System standards.
- Support the achievement of productivity and cost targets through process optimisation, waste reduction and CONQ improvement initiatives.
- Deploy and sustain SAESL Operating System standards within the assigned cell or area, and identify opportunities to enhance standard work and operational excellence.
- Identify, evaluate and prioritise manufacturing process improvement and innovation opportunities, develop business cases where required, and lead the implementation of initiatives to achieve best-in-class manufacturing practices.
Qualification / Experience
- Degree in Aeronautical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, repair or overhaul environment.
- Experience in commodity or product ownership will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of fixture design and masking techniques.
- Strong communication, analytical, engineering and project management skills.
- Good technical problem-solving skills, with knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies and a hands-on approach.
