Bona Yoo Art Advisory is a global art advisory working with private collectors, family offices, institutions and international clients across acquisitions, collection management and strategic art projects. The firm provides considered and discreet advice across international markets, with a focus on art, culture and the long-term development of meaningful collections.
The Role
Bona Yoo Art Advisory is seeking a highly capable and motivated Associate to work closely with the Founder/Principal across art advisory, research, client relationships, business development and the day-to-day operations of the firm.
This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone with a strong interest in modern and contemporary art, excellent judgement and a highly developed eye for detail, quality and presentation. The successful candidate will be intellectually curious, resourceful, discreet and comfortable moving fluidly between research, client work, creative projects, relationship management and administration.
As part of a small and dynamic business, the Associate will be expected to take ownership of projects, anticipate needs and contribute across all areas of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Art Advisory & Research
- Support the Founder/Principal across client advisory and collection-related projects.
- Conduct research on artists, artworks, exhibitions, galleries, dealers, auctions and developments across the international art market.
- Prepare research reports, briefing notes, artist materials, artwork fact sheets, presentations, proposals and market updates.
- Monitor auction results, upcoming sales and works coming to market, identifying relevant opportunities for clients.
- Support acquisition and collection strategies through artist research, market analysis, comparables, provenance, exhibition history and broader contextual research.
- Assist with the evaluation and development of opportunities across primary and secondary markets.
Client & Relationship Management
- Assist in managing relationships with collectors, family offices, galleries, dealers, auction houses, museums, foundations, artists and other advisors.
- Support acquisitions and sales from initial opportunity through completion, including offers, contracts, invoices, shipping, insurance, installation and post-sale administration.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, client information, project files and follow-ups.
- Liaise professionally with galleries, dealers, auction houses, shippers, insurers, lawyers, conservators and other external partners.
- Exercise a high degree of discretion and professionalism in all client and business matters.
Founder/Principal Support & Operations
- Support the Founder/Principal with calendar management, correspondence, travel arrangements, meetings, expenses and other day-to-day priorities.
- Prepare meeting materials, agendas, briefing notes and follow-ups as required.
- Coordinate multiple projects and deadlines, ensuring that priorities are tracked and followed through to completion.
- Assist with the general administration and smooth day-to-day running of the firm.
- Travel internationally as needed.
Presentations, Creative & Digital
- Create polished client presentations, proposals, offers, research materials and other documents using Adobe InDesign / Creative Suite, PowerPoint and related tools.
- Maintain and develop templates and visual materials in keeping with the firm's identity and standards.
- Manage the firm's social media and digital presence, including research, content curation, content creation and scheduling.
- Support the Founder/Principal with professional social media and content where appropriate.
- Contribute to the firm's overall visual and editorial presentation.
Projects, Events & Business Development
- Assist with exhibitions, art fairs, studio visits, events, special projects and strategic partnerships.
- Support business development initiatives, market research and the development of new client and professional relationships.
- Contribute to special projects and other priorities as they arise.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- A strong interest in and knowledge of modern and contemporary art.
- A BA in Art History, preferably with a focus on twentieth-century and contemporary art, or a related field.
- Ideally 2+ years of relevant experience in art advisory, a gallery, auction house, museum, art law, family office, private wealth or a related environment.
- Strong research, writing, analytical and organisational skills.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in the business of art and the international art market.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign/Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with social media, content creation and digital platforms, together with a strong visual sensibility.
- The ability to develop and articulate an informed point of view.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a polished professional presence.
- Sound judgement and absolute discretion.
- Willingness to learn, take ownership and contribute across a small and dynamic business.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.

Compensation
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
