General Manager

Are you an experienced management professional with strong strategic leadership and business development capabilities?

Our client is looking for a General Manager to oversee overall business operations, drive strategic growth, strengthen organisational performance, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. This role is ideal for an experienced senior leader with exposure to construction, engineering, or related industries, who can balance day-to-day operational management with long-term business development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master's Degree / MBA is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive management experience in a senior leadership role, such as General Manager, Deputy General Manager, Operations Director, or equivalent.
• Prior exposure to construction, engineering, or related industries is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to provide strategic direction, drive business growth, and lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong experience managing both daily operations and long-term strategic initiatives.
• Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, cost control, and business performance tracking.
• Able to identify new business opportunities, secure projects, and manage business risks.
• Demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and mentor senior-level teams.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound decision-making skills.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage for communication with suppliers and business partners.
• High integrity, entrepreneurial mindset, and results-driven approach.
• Able to thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership

• Provide leadership and direction in developing and implementing the company's vision, mission, strategic objectives, and business plans.
• Identify business opportunities, risks, and emerging market trends.
• Develop strategies to support the company's long-term sustainability and growth.

Operational Management

• Oversee the company's day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, profitability, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Establish, implement, and monitor internal policies, controls, and procedures.
• Safeguard company assets and reputation through effective operational governance.

Financial Management

• Ensure sound financial management across the company.
• Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Monitor business performance and identify areas for improvement.

People & Organisational Development

• Lead, motivate, and develop the senior management team.
• Drive team performance towards company objectives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and high performance throughout the organisation.

Stakeholder & Board Relations

• Act as the primary liaison between the Board of Directors and management.
• Ensure effective communication and execution of Board directives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, regulators, and other key stakeholders.

Business Development

• Drive business growth by identifying and securing new projects, contracts, and partnerships.
• Explore new markets and business opportunities.
• Strengthen the company's market presence and support long-term revenue growth.

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
