Being Authentic by always being true to who we are, and by being Smart by delivering results in a clever and effective way.

YOTEL Kuala Lumpur

YOTEL Kuala Lumpur, our first hotel in Malaysia, will be situated in the capital’s Central Business District. Featuring 290 rooms, the hotel will showcase YOTEL’s latest features including the brand’s signature robotic concierge, motorised SmartBeds, and fully integrated technologies for which YOTEL is known.

Guests will have access to the brand’s multi-functional dining and co-working space – a 24-hour fitness centre, a Grab + Go snack station, and meeting hubs that can be used to network and relax. Guests, visitors of the hotel and locals will also have access to a rooftop pool and bar offering views of the city skyline.

About the role

You will be responsible for ensuring that the hotel’s systems, networks and technology infrastructure operate securely, reliably and efficiently. From supporting our hotel teams and maintaining business-critical systems to managing technology partners and delivering improvement projects, you will play an important role in keeping the hotel connected and our operation running smoothly.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced hotel IT professional who enjoys solving problems, improving how things work and making technology straightforward for others.

More specifically, responsibilities will include the following:

  • Support key hotel technology, including the property management system, point-of-sale systems, payment solutions, guest Wi-Fi, telephony, networks, servers and back-office applications
  • Provide responsive technical support to hotel teams, resolving issues with minimal disruption to guests and operations
  • Monitor system availability, network performance, backups, cybersecurity controls and disaster-recovery arrangements
  • Manage user accounts, system access and technology assets in line with company policies and data-protection requirements
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware, software, licences, warranties and IT equipment
  • Coordinate system installations, upgrades, integrations and technology projects.
  • Work closely with hotel leadership, operational departments and central technology teams to identify business needs and practical solutions
  • Manage relationships with external technology suppliers, support partners and service providers
  • Monitor IT expenditure and support the preparation and management of the hotel’s technology budget
  • Ensure technology standards, operating procedures and documentation are maintained and followed
  • Deliver clear and practical training to hotel teams, helping them use systems confidently and responsibly
  • Support new openings, refurbishments or technology rollouts where required
  • Keep informed about emerging technology and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, security or the guest experience

The skills we are looking for are:

  • Previous experience in an IT management or senior IT support role within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Good working knowledge of hotel systems, such as property management, point-of-sale, payment, guest internet and telephony platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, hardware, Microsoft environments, cybersecurity, system access and data backup.
  • Experience managing technology suppliers, support contracts and IT projects.
  • The ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues calmly and methodically.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and the flexibility to respond when operational support is needed.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical matters in a clear and straightforward way.
  • Good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A relevant qualification in information technology, computer science or a related discipline.
  • Professional fluency in English; additional languages would be an advantage.
  • Experience of hotel openings or system implementations would be beneficial.
