Job Summary
The Technical Specialist Trainee will undergo structured training in production processes and technical support within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The first stage focuses on process familiarisation, machine and equipment operation, plant layout, product models, materials, output quantity, and quality requirements.
As competency develops, the trainee will progress into more detailed technical support involving machine programming, equipment setup, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The role is intended to develop trainees toward Technical Specialist and Assistant Engineer responsibilities while working with advanced and high-value semiconductor end-line machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities & Training Structure
1. Stage 1 – Production & Process Familiarisation
- Understand the overall manufacturing process flow, equipment functions, and plant layout.
- Learn the correct machine operating instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP), and authorised operating methods.
- Assist with machine and equipment setup, basic parameter checking, and routine production support under supervision.
- Develop familiarity with standard products, process requirements, and production line workflow.
2. SMT Process Training
- Learn the SMT program requirements for different product models and materials.
- Understand machine setup, operating instructions, and basic production parameters for SMT processes.
- Monitor the line against the 2Q requirements: output Quantity and Quality parameters.
- Record production results and report machine, process, material, or quality abnormalities to the responsible technical personnel.
3. MI & FA Assembly Process Training
- Learn the MI & FA assembly process using the same production fundamentals applied during SMT training.
- Become familiar with the different machines, equipment, tooling, and setup requirements used for MI & FA assembly.
- Support machine setup, process monitoring, output quantity checks, and quality verification under supervision.
4. Stage 2 – Technical Support Development
- Progress from basic production and process knowledge into technical support activities under experienced technical personnel and engineers.
- Develop more detailed knowledge of standard products, manufacturing processes, machine functions, and equipment setup.
- Assist with machine programming, configuration, setup changes, and parameter optimisation according to approved procedures.
- Support machine and equipment servicing, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Assist in identifying machine abnormalities, equipment faults, and process-related issues affecting production lines.
- Support line recovery and technical improvement activities while following company procedures and escalation requirements.
5. Safety, Quality & Equipment Care
- Follow all occupational safety, quality, manufacturing, and equipment-handling requirements.
- Operate or work on advanced semiconductor end-line machines only within the trainee’s authorised competency level and under appropriate supervision.
- Maintain accurate production, quality, machine, service, and maintenance records where required.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness and organisation according to 5S practices.
Education & Qualification Requirements
Minimum Qualification
- Certificate / Diploma / TVET qualification. Minimum Certificate level; Diploma holders are preferred for progression into more advanced technical support responsibilities.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,200.00 per month
Work Location: In person
