Responsibilities

Job Purpose

To support the achievement of the hotel's revenue, occupancy, and market share objectives through effective account management, business development, and strategic sales initiatives. The Sales Manager is responsible for generating room, meetings, events, and other hotel-related revenue by managing assigned accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and fostering strong client relationships. Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing, the role focuses on maximizing revenue and profitability, enhancing customer satisfaction, and strengthening the hotel's market presence through proactive sales activities, market intelligence, and exceptional service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive room, meetings, events, long-stay, residential, and other hotel-related revenue within assigned market segments.
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, sales calls, presentations, and client engagements.
  • Acquire, develop, and maintain a portfolio of corporate, government, travel trade, airline, MICE, and key accounts to achieve revenue and occupancy targets.
  • Manage assigned accounts strategically to maximize revenue contribution, customer retention, market share, and long-term business relationships.
  • Execute agreed sales action plans, promotions, and business development initiatives aligned with the hotel's commercial objectives and annual sales budget.
  • Conduct regular client visits, sales calls, business reviews, and networking activities to strengthen client relationships and generate repeat business.
  • Coordinate and conduct site inspections, familiarization trips, and property presentations to showcase hotel facilities and convert business opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Front Office, Reservations, Revenue Management, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of client requirements and service excellence.
  • Prepare and negotiate proposals, quotations, contracts, lease agreements, and other sales documentation in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor account production, pace, and performance to ensure the achievement of individual and departmental sales targets.
  • Gather, analyze, and report market intelligence, competitor activities, industry trends, pricing movements, and customer feedback to support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, account development plans, business pipelines, and market action plans to support budget achievement and revenue growth.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, sales activities, and opportunities within the designated CRM and sales management systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, key decision-makers, business partners, and industry stakeholders through regular engagement and professional account servicing.
  • Entertain clients where appropriate to strengthen business relationships, enhance customer loyalty, and secure future business opportunities.
  • Generate and present weekly sales reports, account performance reports, forecast updates, and other management reports as required.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, exhibitions, industry events, sales missions, and networking functions to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Promote cross-selling opportunities across the Fraser Hospitality portfolio and collaborate with sister properties to maximize overall business opportunities.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through responsive communication, effective issue resolution, and proactive relationship management.
  • Support the Director of Sales & Marketing in achieving the hotel's revenue, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and market share objectives.
  • Participate actively in departmental initiatives, special projects, and cross-functional assignments as directed by the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) or Assistant Director of Sales & Marketing (ADOSM).
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management from time to time.

Qualifications, experience and skills

  • Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Good knowledge of corporate, leisure, MICE, and travel trade market segments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and sales management systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
