Biology Tutor (Full-Time), Secondary & JC

About Overmugged
Overmugged is a Singapore tuition company built by tutors who were once students trying to make sense of the syllabus themselves. We teach in small groups, write our own curated notes, and care about one thing: students walking into their exams knowing exactly what to do. We're growing our Biology department and want a tutor who can teach clearly, write well, and hold a high bar.
What you'll do
Teach weekly Upper Secondary (Pure and Combined Science Biology) and/or JC (H1/H2 Biology) classes, in person and online, in line with the latest SEAB syllabuses
Plan lessons and build teaching materials, including notes, topical worksheets, practice papers and answer keys, to Overmugged's house standard
Mark scripts with exam-standard feedback, especially on structured and free-response answers where students lose marks on keywords and precision
Prepare JC students for practical and planning work (Paper 4), and O-Level students for practical-based questions
Track student progress and flag students who are falling behind, working with our Ops team on parent updates through approved channels
Run intensive holiday programmes and revision masterclasses during peak periods
Contribute to the Biology department's shared resource bank and attend department meetings and training
What we're looking for
A degree in Biology, Life Sciences, Biomedical Science or a related field
Strong command of the O-Level and/or A-Level Biology syllabus, and an understanding of how Cambridge/SEAB mark schemes reward answers
Teaching or tutoring experience with Singapore students (ex-MOE, NIE-trained or tuition centre experience is a plus but not required)
The ability to explain hard topics like genetics, cellular respiration, and homeostasis in ways that actually stick
Clear written English, since you'll be producing materials that other tutors and hundreds of students will use
Availability for weekend classes, as that's when most of our students are free
