Job Description

Responsibilities

Fresh Polytechnic Graduates Welcome: Assistant Operations Executive (Maritime Port)

Kick-start your career with a well-established global logistics company in Singapore. No experience? No problem. You will receive a structured one-year on-the-job training programme, complete with a dedicated mentor, designed to build a strong foundation in maritime port operations, safety, coordination, and leadership.

No two days look the same. One moment you could be coordinating a vessel's arrival, the next you're problem-solving on the terminal floor with your team. This is an excellent opportunity for polytechnic graduates who are eager to learn, develop practical skills, and build a stable, long-term career in the logistics and maritime industry, with a clear pathway to progress into an Operations Executive role upon successful completion of the training programme.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily container terminal activities to ensure safe, efficient, and seamless operations.
  • Assist with vessel loading and unloading processes while upholding service and productivity standards.
  • Plan manpower, equipment, and resource allocation based on shift requirements.
  • Update and maintain accurate records of terminal movements via the Terminal Operations System.
  • Liaise with internal teams, vessel personnel, and operational stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
  • Motivate and direct equipment specialists to meet shift targets and maintain service quality.
  • Observe operational conditions and respond swiftly to delays, disruptions, or safety concerns.
  • Enforce established safety protocols and regulatory requirements across all assigned duties.
  • Compile shift handover notes and performance reports using digital reporting tools.
  • Participate actively in the structured on-the-job training programme to build competency in port operations, safety, and leadership.

Requirements

  • Diploma in ANY discipline from a local polytechnic in Singapore
  • No prior work experience required; a structured one-year training programme with dedicated mentorship is provided, though exposure to operations, logistics, or team coordination is an advantage
  • Comfortable working rotating shifts (5.5 days a week), with basic familiarity with digital tools considered a plus
  • Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset, sound problem-solving skills, and leadership potential

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: S$2,800 to S$3,500
  • Monthly shift allowance of $300 to $400
  • Annual Wage Supplement (AWS) with variable bonus of 2 to 5 months, subject to performance
  • Structured career progression pathway to Operations Executive upon successful completion of training
  • Other benefits under company policy
