Key Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain Trumpf laser cutting, punching, and bending (press brake) machines to produce components as per engineering drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and work orders to determine job requirements, tooling, and machine settings.
Program and adjust machine parameters (nesting, cutting speed, punching tools, bend sequences/angles) for optimal output and material utilization.
Perform in-process quality checks using measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, angle gauge, etc.) to ensure dimensional accuracy and conformity to specifications.
Identify and troubleshoot machine faults, material defects, or process deviations; escalate issues to supervisors/maintenance as needed.
Perform routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and calibration checks to minimize downtime.
Handle raw materials and finished components safely, ensuring proper storage and material traceability.
Maintain production records, job cards, and quality documentation as per ISO/quality system requirements.
Follow all workplace health and safety (EHS) protocols, including proper use of PPE and safe machine operating procedures.
Collaborate with design, quality, and maintenance teams to improve process efficiency and reduce rejection rates.
Support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, lean manufacturing) on the shop floor.
