JOB PURPOSE
To manage, monitor and maintain the Company's Halal compliance requirements in accordance with the requirements of JAKIM/JAIN, the Malaysian Halal Certification Procedure Manual, applicable Halal standards, and the Company's Halal Assurance System.
The Halal Executive is responsible for ensuring that all products, ingredients, suppliers, food preparation processes, premises, equipment, documentation and operational activities comply with applicable Halal requirements and are always ready for Halal inspection and audit.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS
1. Manage Halal Compliance:
- Create, enforce and optimize comprehensive Halal compliance rules across all business operations.
- Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies and procedures across our operations.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation to demonstrate Halal compliance
2. Run Internal Audits:
- Execute routine checks and inspection of Central Kitchen and outlets regularly to ensure Halal standards and good operational practices are met.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify Halal Certification and adherence
3. Liaise with Authorities:
- Act as the main contact for Halal authorities, suppliers, and external partners to address and resolve compliance matters.
- Liaise with Halal authorities, suppliers and other stakeholders to address Halal-related matters
4. Training and Development:
- Facilitate ongoing Halal Awareness training programs and provide a professional guide for employees on proper Halal practices and daily requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on Halal requirements and best practices
5. Track Regulations:
- Monitor and analyze updates to Halal standards from JAKIM, alongside relevant regulations from the Ministry of Health (KKM) and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN).
- Stay up to date with changes in Halal regulations and industry standards
6. Review of New Products:
- Collaborate with product development teams to verify that all raw materials, ingredients, and formulations satisfy Halal certification criteria.
- Assist in the development and launch of new Halal-certified products
7. Keep Records/Documentation:
- Maintain compliance records and documents for Halal standard, FOSIM premise registration, employee's food handling, and product labelling verification.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Halal Management, Food Technology, Shariah, or related fields.
- Relevant Halal Executive qualification/training recognised by the relevant authority is preferred/required where applicable.
- Experience in Halal management, food manufacturing, food service, QA/QC or F&B operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with Malaysian Halal certification requirements and relevant JAKIM/JAIN procedures.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and quality management is an advantage.
- Certification: Possess a valid Halal Executive Certificate recognized by JAKIM's Halal Professional Board (HPB).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Malaysian Halal Standards (MS1500), GMP, HACCP, and MeSTI guidelines. Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Experience: Ranging from fresh graduates (Junior level) to 3 years minimum of experience in a Halal compliance or quality assurance role within the retail or consumer products industry.
Salary Range:RM3,400 – RM5,000 per month (based on qualifications, relevant experience and competencies)
