Introduction
- We are recruiting on behalf of a major international energy operator for an experienced Lead HVAC Engineer to support the delivery of a large offshore FPSO development.
- This role will serve as the Company's technical authority for HVAC systems, ensuring EPC Contractor designs comply with Company specifications, project requirements, international standards, and offshore safety regulations.
- The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and assurance throughout FEED, Detailed Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Start-Up, and Handover phases.
- Candidates with prior Operator experience and strong familiarity with TotalEnergies standards, methodologies, General Specifications (GS), and project assurance processes will be highly regarded.
Responsibilities
- As the Company's Lead HVAC Engineer, you will provide technical governance and independent review of HVAC engineering deliverables, ensuring solutions are safe, reliable, operable, maintainable, and aligned with lifecycle performance objectives.
- You will review and endorse HVAC design bases, design philosophies, system descriptions, equipment specifications, vendor evaluations, technical deviations, concession requests, and management of change documentation.
- The role will involve participating in engineering assurance reviews, technical audits, and implementing lessons learned from previous projects and operational feedback.
- You will ensure HVAC systems are effectively integrated with fire and gas systems, safety systems, temporary refuge requirements, pressurization systems, and emergency shutdown philosophies.
- Additionally, you will participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, ALARP, Design Safety Reviews, and operational risk assessments to identify and mitigate project risks.
- Working closely with EPC Contractors, engineering consultants, vendors, classification societies, and project stakeholders, you will monitor technical quality, challenge engineering decisions where necessary, and lead the resolution of critical HVAC-related issues.
- The position also requires supporting operational readiness by ensuring HVAC systems meet long-term operational and maintenance requirements.
- This includes reviewing accessibility, maintainability, equipment replacement strategies, commissioning readiness, and system handover activities, while participating in FAT, SAT, Mechanical Completion, and Final Acceptance reviews.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer status considered an advantage.
- Applicants must have a minimum of 10 years of HVAC engineering experience within the Oil & Gas industry, including at least 10 years supporting offshore facilities and FPSO developments.
- Experience on a minimum of two FPSO projects through FEED, Detailed Design, and Execution phases is essential, along with previous Operator experience within major international oil and gas companies.
- Candidates should also demonstrate experience working in Owner's Engineer or Company Representative roles, providing technical assurance and engineering governance.
- Experience working under TotalEnergies standards, specifications, and project methodologies, supporting deepwater offshore developments, and performing technical authority or project assurance functions will be highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of offshore HVAC design, safety systems integration, risk assessment processes, and lifecycle asset performance is required.
