Key Responsibilities

1. Coffee & Beverage Preparation

* Prepare coffee, espresso-based beverages, tea, and other beverages according to company recipes and standards.

* Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, portion, and quality.

* Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment.

* Perform daily coffee machine calibration, including grinding and espresso extraction adjustments.

* Ensure all beverages are served within the expected preparation time.

2. Team Leadership

* Lead and guide junior baristas and beverage staff during daily operations.

* Train new staff on beverage preparation, recipes, equipment usage, and service standards.

* Monitor staff performance and provide guidance when necessary.

* Allocate beverage station duties to ensure an efficient workflow.

* Lead by example in terms of punctuality, discipline, teamwork, and customer service.

3. Customer Service

* Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to customers.

* Handle customer questions and beverage-related complaints professionally.

* Ensure customers receive beverages according to their orders and expectations.

* Maintain a positive and welcoming café environment.

4. Quality & Hygiene Control

* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety at the bar area.

* Ensure proper storage and handling of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients.

* Check the quality and freshness of beverage ingredients regularly.

* Ensure all equipment and workstations are cleaned and maintained properly.

5. Inventory & Stock Control

* Monitor daily usage of coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, and other beverage supplies.

* Report low-stock or damaged items to management.

* Assist with stock counting and inventory checks.

* Minimize wastage and ensure proper portion control.

6. Opening & Closing Duties

* Perform opening and closing procedures for the bar area.

* Check equipment, ingredients, and workstation readiness before operations.

* Ensure proper cleaning and shutdown of coffee machines and other equipment at the end of the day.

* Ensure the bar area is fully prepared for the next shift.

7. Supporting Management

* Report operatonal issues, customer complaints, equipment problems, and staff concerns to management.

* Assist management in implementing company policies and procedures.

* Suggest improvements to beverage quality, workflow, menu items, and customer service.

* Support café operations when required, including during busy periods.

Requirements

* Previous experience as a Barista, preferably with senior or supervisory experience.

* Good knowledge of espresso preparation, coffee extraction, and milk steaming.

* Good understanding of coffee beans, grind size, dosing, and brewing techniques.

* Strong customer service and communication skills.

* Able to work independently and lead a team.

* Responsible, punctual, disciplined, and reliable.

* Able to work in a fast-paced café environment.

* Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
