Our client is a global enterprise advancing cloud-native, AI-augmented engineering to modernize legacy systems and scale digital solutions worldwide. They are seeking a senior application development leader to partner with product and business stakeholders, lead task forces in building and refactoring cloud-ready applications, and oversee releases, user support, and occasional standby coverage. The role blends hands-on Java/React expertise with AI orchestration, Scrum collaboration, and cross-functional solution design to deliver secure, high-performing systems that support global growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business representatives and product management to translate requirements into technical solutions and cloud-ready application designs.

• Lead task forces to build and deploy cloud-native applications, refactoring and maintaining enterprise codebases for scalability, performance, and security.

• Actively contribute to Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with architects, engineers, QAs, designers, and partners on solution design and problem solving.

• Research and adopt new methodologies and technologies, sharing knowledge across the team to elevate delivery quality.

• Manage application releases and system upgrades, provide user support, and offer occasional standby coverage for critical incidents.

Key requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, AI Engineering, or related field; 8+ years in application design/development with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

• Proven leadership of hybrid human–AI workflows, including oversight of AI-generated code and maintaining architectural integrity.

• Strong backend expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with experience migrating legacy EJB/Swing systems to microservices or serverless.

• Modern frontend proficiency in React and TypeScript, plus hands-on use of AI coding assistants and AI orchestration for boilerplate, tests, and documentation.

• Fluent in English and Putonghua, with systems-thinking mindset, strong communication to non-technical stakeholders and adaptability to evolving AI tools.
