Job Summary:
Responsible for tax compliance, financial reporting, month-end closing, audit coordination, statutory reporting, and ensuring compliance with local GAAP/IFRS and tax regulations.
Tax Job Description
- Prepare and review corporate income tax returns to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, review, and submit direct and indirect tax returns (e.g., SST/WHT) and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Prepare and submit the e_invoice for Malaysia.
- Manage tax reporting processes, including deferred tax calculations and provisions.
- Assist in tax audits and resolve any related queries.
- Provide support for tax planning and advisory services.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring timely implementation of necessary adjustments.
- Liaise with tax authorities and external consultants for queries, audits, or clarifications related to indirect taxes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address tax-related matters effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support all tax filings.
- Contribute to process improvements within the tax compliance function.
Accounting Job Description
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.
- Conduct variance analysis on P&L and balance sheet accounts and provide explanations to stakeholders.
- Timely submission of the Company’s monthly financials via HFM.
- Prepare and coordinate annual and interim audit schedules, ensuring completeness and accuracy of supporting documentation.
- Provide all necessary explanations and reconciliations to external and internal auditors within agreed timelines.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with local GAAP/IFRS and group reporting requirements.
- Assist in drafting statutory financial statements and group reporting packages.
- Strengthen internal controls related to financial reporting, taxation, and audit compliance.
- Support finance transformation initiatives or ERP system enhancements when required.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years and above of professional experience in tax controlling or accounting.
- Having Malaysia tax certificate from an educational institution is preferred.
- Proficiency in corporate income tax compliance and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Up-to-date knowledge of local tax regulations and laws.
- Experience with tax software and financial systems such as Hyperion/HFM, SAP.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
