Position : Quality Engineer

Salary : RM 4,000 - RM 6,000

Location : Tropicana Garden, Damansara

Working days : 10am – 7pm / Mon - Fri

About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Engineer (QE) to ensure the quality, reliability, and stability of our web-based platforms and services. The Quality Engineer will work closely with Developers, Product Managers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Infrastructure, and other technical teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The role is responsible for validating new features, identifying defects and risks, improving testing processes, and ensuring releases meet defined quality standards before production deployment.

The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, experience in frontend and backend testing, and the ability to understand complex system and business flows.

Job Description

1. Software Quality & Testing

• Develop and execute test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and endto-end testing.
• Validate frontend, backend, API, database, and system integration functionality.
• Ensure new features and changes meet business requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Verify bug fixes and conduct regression testing before release.
• Identify potential quality risks and issues before production deployment.

2. API & Backend Testing

• Test RESTful APIs and system integrations using tools such as Postman or equivalent.
• Validate API requests, responses, authentication, error handling, and business rules.
• Verify data consistency across different systems and services.
• Work with Developers to investigate API, backend, and integration issues.

3. Database & Data Validation

• Perform database validation using SQL.
• Validate data accuracy, integrity, and consistency between frontend, backend, and databases.
• Investigate data discrepancies and identify potential root causes.
• Experience with MySQL and/or MongoDB will be an advantage.

4. Defect Management

• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Assign appropriate severity and priority based on business and technical impact.
• Work closely with Developers to reproduce and troubleshoot issues.
• Verify fixes and ensure defects are properly resolved before closure.
• Participate in root cause analysis for recurring or critical production issues.

5. Release Quality

• Participate in release planning and deployment readiness reviews.
• Ensure required testing is completed before production release.
• Highlight outstanding defects, risks, and quality concerns before deployment.
• Conduct post-deployment smoke testing and validation when required.
• Support investigation and verification during production incidents.

6. Test Automation & Process Improvement

• Identify suitable test cases for automation to improve testing efficiency.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts where applicable.
• Improve regression test coverage and reduce repetitive manual testing.
• Continuously improve QA/QE processes, testing methodologies, and standards.
• Explore opportunities to introduce automation and AI-assisted testing into the
• QA process.
• Promote quality ownership across Engineering teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering,
• Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Software QA, Quality Engineering,
• Software Testing, or related roles.
• Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Experience in web and mobile application testing.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or equivalent.
• Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge for data validation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with defect and project management tools such as Jira.
• Experience in functional, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand complex business and system workflows.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and nontechnical teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
