Position Summary
We are looking for a hands-on CNC Auto Lathe Technician/Specialist to set up, operate, maintain, and independently troubleshoot sliding-head auto lathe and CNC machines. Beyond maximizing machine uptime, process optimization, and product quality, this role plays a key part in coaching and training production operators to build local technical capability on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Setup & Optimization: Perform fast, accurate new-product setups for auto lathe and CNC equipment to meet production schedules, minimize downtime, and execute dimensional adjustments.
- Programming & Tooling: Handle CNC machine programming, parameter adjustments, and set-up (Turning) while overseeing process design and tooling control management to improve tool life and cycle time.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Independently carry out troubleshooting, major machine repairs, and routine preventive maintenance to quickly resolve machining and quality issues.
- Operator Coaching & Training: Guide, mentor, and train production operators on basic machine operation, routine checks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Quality & Output Control: Monitor machine performance and maintain strict quality standards to achieve daily production targets.
- Safety, 5S & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to company safety rules, local DOSH/safety guidelines, and maintain a clean 5S workstation.
- Documentation: Keep accurate production logs, work orders, and equipment records.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: SPM or Certificate in Precision Machining (or equivalent technical qualification).
- Experience: At least 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry or a related machining field, specifically with sliding-head CNC auto lathes.
- Technical Skills:
- Direct, hands-on experience with Star (SB-20RG or 20RII, SR-38 Type B, SB-20JE) and/or Tsugami (B012E) machine models (or similar equipment) are stronglypreferred.
- Proven ability to perform independent machine setup, troubleshooting, and major repairs.
- Knowledge of CNC machine programming, parameter adjustments, process design, and tooling control management.
- Ability to read and write CNC programs (distinct advantage).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills with patience and the ability to coach and upskill production operators.
- Work Attitude: Detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
