The role executes and controls day-to-day banking operations for the Group, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-governed payment processing, complete cash records, and proper reconciliation of bank transactions. The role safeguards payment integrity, supports liquidity risk, and ensures audit-ready banking documentation.
Key responsibilities
Payment Execution & Processing
- Execute approved payments across online banking platforms, including vendor payments, intercompany transfers, and statutory payments; supported by complete approvals and documentation prior to execution.
- Prepare and submit manual remittance forms, bank drafts, and cheque payments where required.
- Communicate payment status and confirmations to internal stakeholders (AP, Ops, vendors).
Complete & Accurate Maintenance of Records
- Maintain accurate daily cash book records reflecting all bank movements, bank balances, payments made, and incoming funds.
- Ensure updated, complete and orderly maintenance of the monthly databases and other documents in Treasury Shared Folder (bank balances, FDs listing, banking facilities listing, supporting documents e.g. payment advices, bank confirmations).
Bank Reconciliation & Closing
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for all assigned bank accounts, including investigating and resolving discrepancies between bank statements and general ledger (GL).
- Escalate unresolved or aged reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Support month-end closing by ensuring cash-related entries are complete and accurate in SAP.
Liquidity Support & Fixed Deposit (“FD”) Administration
- Support monitoring of daily bank balances to facilitate liquidity management.
- Assist in FD placement and upliftment activities, including documentation and tracking of returns.
- Update relevant trackers to reflect FD movements and maturities.
Audit, Controls & Governance
- Maintain complete audit trails for all payment and banking activities to support internal and external audit exercises.
- Ensure compliance with approved payment policies, SOPs and banking controls.
- Develop and/or enhance Group Treasury policies and processes to ensure Group-wide alignment.
Banking Facilities
- Liaise with operations and project teams on required documentation for banking facilities and with banks for the subsequent issuance of banking facilities.
- Record, track and monitor status of banking facilities, end-to-end of the lifecycle including closure.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
- 3-5 years combined experience in Treasury & Corporate Banking
- Relevant treasury operations experience (payment execution and monitoring, banking, banking facilities)
- Possession of a professional qualification such as CFA, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification would be an added advantage.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with banks, advisors, BD & Commercial
- Familiarity with SAP, treasury modules or financial systems
- Working knowledge of treasury operations, cashflow forecasting, bank account governance and facility monitoring
