INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEM ARCHITECT

CITAGLOBAL TELECOMMUNICATION SDN BHD


Role Purpose

The System Architect will lead the design, integration, implementation, and optimization of IT systems across the Group. This role is suitable for an experienced IT professional who can bridge enterprise IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, systems architecture, vendor coordination and business operations.


Key Responsibilities


1.Project Leadership and Implementation

  • Lead end-to-end technical delivery for IT systems and integration projects.
  • Prepare project plans, implementation timelines, risk assessments, testing plans, migration plans, and cutover strategies.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, subsidiaries, vendors, contractors, and management to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, timeline, budget, and technical standards.
  • Provide technical direction to junior engineers, IT support staff, and external service providers.


2.System Administration and Infrastructure Support

  • Manage and support Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms, cloud environments, storage, backup, monitoring tools, and endpoint infrastructure.
  • Ensure availability, performance, reliability, and security of critical IT systems.
  • Implement patch management, system hardening, backup, disaster recovery, access control, and incident response procedures.
  • Develop, manage, and optimize operational, management, and executive dashboards for business visibility, reporting, and decision-making across the Group.
  • Utilize AI platforms and productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and related AI solutions to support reporting, analysis, automation, documentation, and business productivity improvements.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and proactively resolve system and security issues.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, system configuration documents, user access records, and technical documentation.


3.Cybersecurity and Governance

  • Implement security controls across IT systems, including firewall policies, endpoint protection, identity access management, MFA, VPN, logging, and monitoring.
  • Support cybersecurity assessments, audits, compliance reviews, vulnerability remediation, and incident response activities.
  • Ensure IT practices comply with internal governance requirements, relevant regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
  • Manage user access rights, privileged access control, system security policies, and periodic access reviews across the Group.


4.Vendor and Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with IT vendors, system integrators, software providers, managed service providers, and project contractors.
  • Review vendor proposals, technical designs, implementation plans, service reports, and support arrangements.
  • Assist management in evaluating technology investments, infrastructure upgrades, licensing models, and support contracts.
  • Monitor vendor delivery against agreed service levels, project milestones, and support obligations.


5. Technical Competencies

  • Systems: Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, endpoint management, and enterprise administration.
  • Virtualisation / Cloud : VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, cloud connectivity, and hybrid infrastructure support.
  • Security : Firewall policies, endpoint protection, IAM, MFA, privileged access, logging, monitoring, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Operations: Backup, disaster recovery, patch management, monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, and change control.
  • Integration: System migration, application connectivity, infrastructure consolidation, API/database awareness, and cross-platform interoperability.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in IT systems architecture, infrastructure engineering, IT operations, or IT project implementation.
  • Strong hands-on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure and systems architecture.
  • Proven experience leading system integration, migration, or infrastructure upgrade projects.
  • Able to work independently and manage internal users, vendors, technical teams, and external service providers.


Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Windows Server, or Microsoft 365 certification.
  • Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto, Sophos, or equivalent firewall/security certification.
  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent IT service management certification.
  • Cybersecurity-related certification would be an added advantage.
