About Us

Reclimate is a climate-tech venture focused on advancing carbon removal solutions. We work with partners across Malaysia and the Global South to develop high-impact carbon projects that support climate resilience, rural livelihoods, and responsible land and waste management. Currently, we have one of the largest portfolios of active biochar projects in Southeast Asia.

Our core initiative works with agricultural partners across ASEAN to turn agricultural waste into biochar, transforming waste into climate action and socioeconomic benefits for local communities.

Role Overview

We are looking for a curious, detail-oriented, and proactive Sustainability & Operations Intern to support our carbon project operations, research, and documentation. You will work closely with our operations and commercials teams on real-world climate projects, helping prepare project documentation, conduct research, organise data, and develop materials for our project partners.

The role will also involve supporting research projects related to climate, agronomy, and biochar, making it a great opportunity for someone interested in the intersection of environmental science, agriculture, and climate technology.

Why Reclimate?

  • Real-World Impact, No Fluff: Contribute directly to carbon removal projects that turn agricultural waste into climate action and support rural communities.
  • Hands-On Climate-Tech Experience: Gain exposure to how carbon projects are developed, documented, monitored, and implemented on the ground.
  • Research Meets Practice: Get involved in climate and agronomy research, including topics related to biochar, soil health, and sustainable agriculture.
  • Startup Agility: Work in a fast-moving environment where you can take ownership of tasks, share ideas, and learn by doing.
  • Remote Work with a Global Team: Enjoy more flexibility while collaborating with a youth-led team working across Southeast Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carbon Project Documentation: Assist in preparing and organising carbon project documents, reports, and supporting materials.
  • Project Operations: Support project monitoring, data collection, basic analysis, and coordination of ongoing activities.
  • Research & Scientific Writing: Conduct research on climate, biochar, soil health, and agronomy, and summarise findings into clear, accurate written materials.
  • Business Support: Prepare presentations, guides, and other materials for agricultural partners and stakeholders.
  • Administrative Handling: Assist with ad hoc administrative tasks, document management, and data organisation.

Requirements

  • Education: Current Malaysian university student studying Biotechnology, Agriculture, Agronomy, Soil Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Research & Writing: Strong research, writing, and information synthesis skills with good attention to detail.
  • Scientific Understanding: Basic understanding of scientific research, agriculture, or soil science; familiarity with soil sampling or analysis is a plus.
  • Climate Interest: Genuine interest in climate action, carbon removal, sustainable agriculture, and/or biochar.
  • Organisation: Proactive, organised, and comfortable managing tasks independently in a remote environment.
  • Tools: Comfortable with Google Workspace, Canva and basic office tools; experience with data analysis or research tools is a plus.
