Job Summary
Join a well-established Metal Works company as a Quantity Surveyor to prepare cost estimates, manage project budgets, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure commercial success of construction projects.
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed quotations, cost estimates, and tender submissions for Metal Works projects to support business growth
Perform accurate quantity take-offs and measurements from construction drawings and specifications to inform cost planning
Obtain, assess, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality
Monitor and control project costs and budgets to maintain financial targets and profitability
Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts to facilitate timely project payments and contract closure
Review project drawings, contracts, and scope of works to identify and evaluate cost implications and risks
Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams on commercial and contractual matters to ensure alignment
Maintain accurate records and provide comprehensive support on tendering and other quantity surveying activities to enhance project delivery
Required competencies and certifications
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Experience in Metal Works, Steel Works, or Structural Steel projects
Basic knowledge of quantity surveying procedures, cost estimation, and contract administration
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
