Our client, a leading plantation company, is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Human Resources to lead and oversee the company’s human resources and administrative functions.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the successful candidate will provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the organization, with a key focus on workforce planning, talent development, performance management, employee relations, and administrative operations to support the company’s business objectives and continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO and Department Heads on organization design, workforce planning, succession planning, talent management, and employee development.
- Lead and manage the HR team in implementing HR policies, programs, and initiatives across the organization.
- Develop and provide guidance on compensation, rewards, and recognition programs, including analysis of market trends and industry benchmarks.
- Oversee the performance management and annual performance appraisal process, ensuring effective implementation across the organization.
- Prepare and submit HR reports, payroll summaries, workforce statistics, and other management reports accurately and within established timelines.
- Oversee office administration, employee welfare, company assets, insurance matters, IT maintenance, and other administrative functions.
- Coordinate security briefings, training, and related initiatives to ensure effective monitoring and security of company premises.
- Lead the annual Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and oversee training, familiarization, onboarding, and on-the-job development programs.
- Advise and support management on employment legislation, employee relations, disciplinary matters, counselling, and collective labour agreements.
- Plan and manage recruitment activities, including local and overseas recruitment, to meet the organization’s manpower requirements.
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with applicable Malaysian labour laws and regulations.
- Drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention, workplace culture, and overall HR effectiveness.
- Undertake other HR and administrative duties and projects as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in HR and administrative management, preferably within the plantation, agriculture, forestry, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian labour legislation, employee relations, disciplinary procedures, and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, performance management, talent development, and training and development.
- Experience managing and developing HR teams, with the ability to work effectively with senior management and department heads.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a practical and business-oriented approach.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and provide meaningful insights to support management decision-making.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Candidates with experience managing HR functions within plantation estates or geographically dispersed operations will have an added advantage.
