About OuterEdit
OuterEdit is an independent creative agency based in Singapore. Since 2011, we’ve worked across brands, spaces, experiences, culture and communities with one belief at the heart of what we do: Make Meaningful Matter.
Our work is deliberately multidisciplinary. We move between brand strategy and identity, campaigns and communications, placemaking and cultural programming, exhibitions and immersive experiences, and the spaces in between. Often, we’re brought into projects where the answer isn’t obvious yet, helping our partners navigate ambiguity, uncover what matters, and turn it into something people can see, feel, understand and participate in.
We believe creativity should have purpose. The strongest ideas are grounded in human insight and cultural relevance, but still have the courage to surprise. Strategy shouldn’t sit apart from the creative work; it should give ideas somewhere meaningful to go.
We’re collaborative, curious and experimental by nature, bringing different disciplines, perspectives and people together to make work that creates genuine connection and positive impact.
The Role
We’re looking for a Creative Strategist who can make sense of complex problems and turn them into clear, compelling creative possibilities.
This isn’t a role solely about writing strategy decks or campaign propositions. At OuterEdit, strategy is deeply connected to how we create. You could be defining the positioning of a new brand, shaping the narrative for a placemaking project, developing the creative framework for an exhibition or immersive experience, or uncovering the cultural insight that gives a campaign its reason for being.
You’ll work closely with creative directors, designers, producers, collaborators and clients, often from the earliest stages of a project. We’re looking for someone comfortable moving between research, strategy, storytelling, ideation, creative direction, culture, community and design craft—and who understands how a strong strategic thought can manifest across visual identity, communications, environments, experiences, programming and culture.
You should also be familiar with, passionate about and ready to champion new perspectives in design and design craft. This means guiding teams towards fresh references, opening doors to new ways of thinking and making, and helping ideas move beyond the expected.
Most importantly, you should be comfortable with ambiguity. Many of our projects begin without a neat answer. Part of your job is to ask better questions, find the threads others may have missed, connect seemingly unrelated dots, and turn complexity into a simple, meaningful idea that the wider creative team can build a world around.
What you’ll do
Who we’re looking for
You’ll have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in creative strategy, brand strategy, design strategy, cultural strategy, advertising, experience design or a related creative field.
You should have a strong ability to move from insight → strategy → idea → expression, and understand that these aren’t always separate stages.
You’re likely someone who:
Formal education in communications, design, branding, marketing, strategy or a related discipline is useful, but we care just as much about how you think, what you’ve made possible, and the perspective you bring.
Come Make Meaningful Matter With Us
If you’re excited by messy questions, meaningful problems and the possibility of turning them into ideas that people genuinely care about, we’d love to hear from you.
Send your CV, cover letter and relevant portfolio to *************
Tell us a little about yourself, the way you think, the work you care about, and why you think OuterEdit might be the right place for what you want to do next.
