About your role

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of technicians and workshop personnel to ensure smooth workshop operations.
• Assign repair and maintenance jobs based on technicians’ skills, workload, and job priority.
• Monitor repair progress and ensure all jobs are completed within the committed turnaround time (TAT).
• Provide technical guidance and support in diagnosing and resolving complex vehicle issues, including recommending appropriate repair methods.
• Ensure repair procedures comply with manufacturer specifications, company standards, and safety requirements.
• Inspect completed repair work to ensure quality standards are met and minimize repeat repairs, rework, and workmanship issues.
• Coordinate with Service Advisors, Job Controllers, and Parts Department to ensure timely repair progress, parts availability, and vehicle completion.
• Monitor workshop manpower, productivity, equipment utilization, and overall technician performance.
• Coach, mentor, and provide technical training to technicians to improve their skills and competency.
• Support the onboarding and technical development of new workshop employees.
• Ensure workshop tools and equipment are properly maintained and the workshop remains clean, safe, and organized.
• Identify and escalate technical or operational issues to the Workshop Manager when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations, company policies, and manufacturer requirements.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Certificate/Diploma in Automotive Technology, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ automotive technician experience, with supervisory/team leader experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair, troubleshooting, and workshop operations.
• EV/Hybrid vehicle experience and knowledge of EV systems/high-voltage safety is an added advantage.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, job coordination, and communication skills.
• Familiar with automotive diagnostic tools and workshop management systems.
• Able to work in a fast-paced workshop environment and manage multiple repair jobs effectively.
