SVA (Shouguang Vegetable AgVentures) is the operating platform for a premium fresh vegetable produce business established as a joint venture anchored by ACGT Sdn Bhd — a wholly owned subsidiary of Genting Plantations Berhad specialising in genomics, artificial intelligence, precision agriculture, controlled-environment farming, and sustainable food production — together with its joint-venture partner, CSV.

Based at the AgTech Campus in Kulai, Johor, the business is building a fully integrated farm-to-fork ecosystem spanning greenhouse and open-field cultivation, nursery and propagation, post-harvest handling, grading and packing, cold-chain logistics, and export-oriented agribusiness. The venture is positioned to supply premium fresh produce to domestic retail and high-value export markets, notably Singapore and the Middle East.

Position Overview

The Business Development Manager develops strategic business opportunities, partnerships, and new markets — identifying, cultivating, and expanding new strategic markets, distribution channels, and export corridors, with a specific focus on Singapore and the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth

Research, map, and pursue new business opportunities, joint ventures, and high-value export partnerships.

• Market research and competitor analysis.
• Partnership development and new-business origination.
• Joint ventures and distribution-network expansion.

Strategic Partnerships & Relationships

Build an extensive network with international importers, institutional buyers, and trade intermediaries.

• Retail chains, importers, exporters, and food processors.
• Government agencies, investors, and international partners.

Brand & Trade Development

Negotiate commercial contracts, pricing structures, and long-term volume supply agreements, and coordinate export logistics, regulatory clearances, and cross-border trade compliance with the relevant authorities.

• Market positioning and branding.
• Trade exhibitions and product launches.
• Export documentation and phytosanitary/regulatory clearance coordination.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 8–10 years’ business-development experience, with a track record of opening export markets and closing high-value partnerships.
• Active network across importers, distributors, and institutional buyers in Singapore and/or the Middle East is highly preferred.
• Experience in fresh produce, horticulture, or perishable food is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Strategic deal-making, negotiation, and cross-cultural communication.
• Strong grasp of export mechanics — Incoterms, customs, phytosanitary and food-safety requirements.
• Entrepreneurial, network-driven, and results-oriented.

Language

• Professional proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin. Fluency in additional regional languages or dialects is an advantage.
