Job Description
Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our hardware team. In this role, you will be the driving force behind the electrical design and New Product Introduction (NPI) of complex semiconductor capital equipment. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in electromechanical layout, industrial standards (UL 508A / SEMI), and a strict adherence to "Copy Exactly" methodologies.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead NPI Projects: Serve as the lead electrical engineer on New Product Introduction (NPI) projects for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, bridging the gap between prototype and high-volume manufacturing.
Power & Controls Architecture: Design and implement 230 VAC main power distribution systems, alongside 5-24VDC control, communications, and complex safety circuit architectures.
Electromechanical Layout: Design the physical layout of control cabinets. Select and integrate OEM, DIN rail-mounted electrical components including circuit breakers, contactors, relays, and PLCs.
Cable & Harness Design: Engineer custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses, selecting appropriate connector and cable types for high-reliability industrial environments.
Safety & Calculations: Perform and document Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) calculations.
Manufacturing Handoff: Ensure all designs and BOMs (Bills of Materials) are meticulously documented to support strict "Copy Exactly" manufacturing requirements.
Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in electrical engineering, specifically designing industrial machinery, control panels, or capital equipment.
Semiconductor Background: Experience working with Semiconductor Capital Equipment and familiarity with strict industry manufacturing practices.
Hardware Expertise: Hands-on experience with electromechanical layouts and sizing/selecting industrial DIN-rail components.
Standards & Compliance:
Strong working knowledge of SEMI standards.
Deep understanding of control panel design standards, specifically UL 508A or IEC 61439.
Methodology: Complete understanding and prior experience working within "Copy Exactly" manufacturing frameworks.
Familiarity with NFPA 79 (Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery).
Familiarity with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code / NEC).
Experience with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or a related technical field.
