Job Description

Responsibilities

About the role

To design, build, and optimize secure cloud environments and data pipelines, while actively researching, testing, and piloting emerging software, architectures, and automated logic frameworks to continuously modernize the IT division's operational capabilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Proactively evaluate emerging database technologies, cloud services, and automation frameworks to conduct technical proof-of-concepts (POCs) for continuous system evolution
  • Code, test, and deploy operational quantitative algorithms, statistical workflows, and automated logic engines within application frameworks
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and robust ETL workflows to automate cross-departmental data ingestion
  • Provision, manage, and monitor resilient cloud infrastructure and storage environments (AWS ecosystem) to ensure continuous system availability
  • Implement secure integration layers, webhooks, and API connections to link cloud backend structures with active production systems
  • Benchmark platform performance, troubleshooting bottlenecks in both infrastructure scaling and algorithmic execution scripts to mitigate system drift
  • Ensure all newly piloted technologies, cloud configurations, and data processes comply strictly with corporate data classification frameworks and governance policies

About you

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience spanning cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and tech evaluation/R&D environments
  • Proven ability to independently look ahead at tech trends, benchmark alternative frameworks, and build sandboxed prototypes
  • Hands-on proficiency with cloud computing infrastructure (e.g. AWS core services like S3, EC2, IAM, and CloudWatch)
  • Strong data engineering expertise, including advanced SQL, data pipeline structuring, and query tools (e.g. AWS Athena)
  • Robust programming expertise for both infrastructure scripting and data processing logic
  • Practical experience utilising cloud execution environments (e.g. AWS SageMaker, Bedrock) for hosting operational logic blocks
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools and custom API integration engines (e.g., n8n)
