Get to know the Role:

As a Lead Software Engineer in Test (G5) in the Mobile Test Automation Platform team, you will define and scale Grab's end-to-end mobile testing strategy by building developer tooling, platform capabilities, and operating processes used across multiple mobile teams.

You will improve how teams run and act on automated test signals throughout CI/CD and release workflows.

You will be reporting to Software Engineering Manager II, Mobile.

This role is onsite based in Singapore office

The Day-to-Day Activities:

• Define and execute Grab's long-term vision and roadmap for scalable, reliable mobile E2E testing.
• Partner with engineering teams to drive adoption of common tools, standards, and quality practices.
• Establish inclusive quality governance and release-readiness guardrails across teams.
• Guide technical strategy for automation platforms, execution efficiency, recovery, reporting, and diagnostics.
• Standardize test metadata and quality signals to enable data-driven release decisions.
• Improve developer experience across Android and iOS testing workflows.
• Mentor engineers and build shared capabilities through coaching, design reviews, and hands-on collaboration.

Essential Skills You Will Need

• Define and deliver a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap for mobile test automation at scale.
• Drive adoption of engineering tools, processes, standards, governance, and quality gates across teams.
• Apply strong knowledge of Android and iOS E2E testing and CI/CD integration.
• Improve test reliability and execution speed through sharding, retries, failure analysis, and flaky-test management.
• Build maintainable automation platforms, services, and integration tooling.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, feedback, technical guidance, and inclusive collaboration.
• Partner effectively with Engineering, QA, Release, and Product stakeholders to achieve measurable outcomes.
• Communicate strategy and execution clearly through documentation and stakeholder alignment.

Experience

• Large-scale mobile CI, device labs/farms, and release pipeline operations.
• Test reporting, analytics, and quality data platforms.
• Android/iOS verification tooling and automated test configuration.
