ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Head Chef / Executive Chef to lead the kitchen operations at P-Loko Café, Young Kopitiam.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining food quality and consistency, managing daily kitchen operations, controlling food costs and wastage, and ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and supervise daily kitchen operations.
• Ensure consistent food quality, taste, presentation and portion control.
• Maintain and improve recipes, kitchen SOPs and food preparation standards.
• Monitor food cost, wastage and ingredient usage.
• Manage kitchen stock and ensure proper food storage.
• Assist in menu development and recipe improvement.
• Train, guide and monitor kitchen staff performance.
• Ensure proper kitchen hygiene, cleanliness and food safety practices.
• Ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak hours.
• Coordinate with Purchasing / Management on ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Work closely with the Outlet Manager to improve kitchen operations and achieve business targets.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Head Chef, Sous Chef or similar kitchen leadership role.
• Experience in café, kopitiam, F&B or casual dining is an advantage.
• Mandarin speaking is advantage.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Good understanding of food costing, portion control and wastage management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Hands-on and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Responsible, disciplined and good in problem-solving.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.

Pay: From RM3,000.00 per month
