Job Description

Responsibilities

We’re looking for an experienced Java Backend Engineer to join a dynamic technology team and work on large-scale, secure and high-performance financial systems.

What you’ll be doing


  • Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot / Quarkus
  • Build and enhance microservices and REST/SOAP APIs
  • Work with databases, messaging platforms and enterprise API integrations
  • Develop cloud-native applications and deploy across AWS, Azure / OpenShift
  • Work with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Implement security, testing, monitoring and performance optimisation
  • Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, database, messaging and other technology teams
  • Contribute to Agile delivery and mentor/support team members
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues through debugging, log analysis and system thinking


What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years of experience in Java / microservices / API development
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot or Quarkus
  • Strong experience in cloud-native development and API-first architecture
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and OpenShift
  • Good knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle or similar databases
  • Strong understanding of backend/API security — OAuth2, JWT, encryption, secrets management
  • Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, AppDynamics or Elastic APM
  • Exposure to GenAI / Agentic AI tools and an AI-first mindset
  • Experience working in BFSI / regulated environments is highly preferred
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills
  • Comfortable working across both technical delivery and project management


Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related field.
