Assistant Manager - Human Resources & Administration


We are hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Assistant Manager, HR to join their team in Penang.


Role Overview

This role will oversee a broad range of HR functions across the employee lifecycle, including HR operations, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong HR Generalist background with solid hands-on experience across multiple HR functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end HR functions including manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, learning & development, and employee engagement.
  • Manage employee lifecycle matters including confirmation, transfers, promotions, disciplinary matters, and employee relations.
  • Oversee HR operations including payroll coordination, benefits administration, leave management, and other HR-related processes.
  • Implement HR policies and initiatives while ensuring compliance with company standards and Malaysian employment legislation.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and HR systems.
  • Support office and administrative operations, including office supplies, equipment, and facilities coordination.
  • Provide HR support and guidance to employees and internal stakeholders on HR-related matters.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of HR Generalist experience with strong hands-on exposure across multiple HR functions.
  • Solid understanding of the Malaysia Employment Act, HR policies, and HR operational practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with employees and stakeholders.
  • Experience across recruitment, employee relations, payroll coordination, and HR administration.
  • Organised, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
