Junior Source Mechanic / Survey Technician
Job Summary
The Junior Source Mechanic / Survey Technician will assist the survey team with the preparation, operation and maintenance of survey equipment used for marine and offshore survey projects. The role provides practical exposure to survey equipment, field operations and basic technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, setup and testing of survey equipment before and during survey activities.
- Support the Survey Team in operating and monitoring equipment during field or offshore activities.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting and maintenance of survey equipment.
- Check equipment condition and report any technical issues to the senior team.
- Assist with equipment mobilisation, demobilisation and inventory checks.
- Maintain proper records of equipment and survey activities.
- Follow instructions from senior technicians and surveyors.
- Follow company HSE requirements and safe working practices.
- Perform other technical or survey-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma or Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Marine or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical or technical equipment.
- Willing to learn about survey equipment and offshore operations.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving attitude.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Willing to travel and work offshore when required.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Pay: From RM3,000.00 per month
