Overview:
As an Area Manager at HOT BIRD, you'll oversee multiple outlets across your assigned area in the Klang Valley -driving operational excellence, managing outlet teams, and focus on in-store issues and fostering a positive working environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have...
At least Diploma/ Bachelor's in Hospitality, F&B management or related disciplines
Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in the same management capacity within the F&B/ retail industry
Experienced with food safety and inventory management procedures
Multi-outlet F&B or QSR experience
Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English
Possess own transport and a valid driving license for outlet visits
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours including PH & weekends as needed
Job Responsibilities:
Outlet visits and standards:
Provide leadership to managers and staff in the geographic area assigned
Ensure assigned outlets are operating with excellence by conducting timely restaurant visitations on scheduled, QSC audits and frequent communication with outlet leadership. This includes:
Food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, security and halal requirements are followed at all times
All in outlet SOPs are strictly adhered to at all times
Outlet is well kept and maintained, representing the brand appropriately
Compliance with all legal, financial and operating company policies and procedures
All products and services going out to customers are of high quality and within standard
Instill a sense of ownership and accountability for money, stock and company property in the outlet team
Escalate any matters requiring money or decision making to your direct report with attached evidence
Complete weekly audit remotely not limited to CCTV sampling, clock-in data, POS figures
People and manager development
Line-manage the managers of the assigned outlets: coach them against the written Operating Standard, run a monthly scorecard and performance conversation for each, and flag early when someone won't reach standard
Support new managers through probation, review duty rosters for peak cover, and handle grievances and discipline at outlet level
Coach and develop outlet leadership team, which includes all managers, assistant managers, supervisors and assistant supervisors for operational excellence and monitor training processes to ensure quality training of employees
Review and approve outlet rosters for adequate cover at peak, and approve changes within policy
Create positive people culture and working environment within all outlets in the area where people are motivated
Commercial performance
Own sales, labour cost and food cost performance across the assigned outlets
Review daily and weekly sales against target per outlet, and act on outlets that are non-performing
Monitor labour scheduling against sales volume so that hours match trade
Track waste, voids, discounts and refunds by outlet, and investigate any data discrepancy
Work with the outlet managers on local trading issues — queue times, order accuracy, delivery platform performance - suggest ways to improve
Stock and ordering
Ensure stock counts are completed by the managers and submitted accurately and on time
Ensure that ordering follows the company’s targets rather than manager estimates
Investigate outlets that repeatedly over-order, run short, or need unscheduled deliveries and suggest ways to resolve the issue
Reporting
Submit weekly report on spot checks and audits in a timely manner with accuracy
Produce a written monthly summary per outlet on areas that are working well, need improvement and proposed solutions
Openings and projects
Support and coach new outlet management
Lead and support new outlet openings, ensure that it is adequately resourced and set up for success
