Xcon Technology Solutions Hiring! Full Time L2 Senior IT System Engineer (Onsite) in Johor, Earn up to MYR 4,800 - Ricebowl

Xcon is the outsourced IT department for SMEs across Malaysia and Singapore. This is our most senior onsite seat. You are the engineer our anchor clients see and trust, you own their environments, and you carry the site work that cannot be done remotely.

What you will do

• Own assigned client sites end to end. You know their environment, their history, and their people.
• Resolve L2 escalations onsite and remotely. Escalate to backend only when it genuinely needs L3.
• Lead scheduled onsite work: preventive maintenance, health checks, hardware and network changes, user support.
• Deploy and maintain servers, switches, access points, firewalls, endpoints, and site infrastructure.
• Administer Microsoft 365 and Entra ID: users, licences, security policies, mailbox and sharing configuration.
• Run small client projects onsite: office moves, network upgrades, device rollouts, migrations.
• Guide L1 and junior L2 engineers on site. Review their work, correct it, and teach as you go.
• Keep client documentation current for every site you own. Undocumented work is unfinished work.
• Hand over cleanly. Coverage, documentation, and status must be in a state where another engineer can pick up your sites when you are on leave.

Requirements

• 4+ years in IT support, systems, or managed services, with real onsite ownership of client environments
• Strong on Windows Server and Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, endpoint management
• Networking you can actually configure: VLAN, routing, VPN, firewall rules, Wi-Fi deployment
• Backup and restore. You have tested a restore, not just checked that the job ran green
• Disciplined use of ticketing and RMM platforms. You update as you work, not at the end of the day
• Client-facing maturity. You can hold a room with a business owner when something is broken
• Working rights in Malaysia, own transport and valid licence, willing to travel across Johor and occasionally Singapore
• English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is an advantage with our client base

Nice to have: MSP background, relevant networking, security, or Microsoft certifications, PowerShell scripting, CCTV and door access systems, virtualisation.
