About the Company


Join one of the world's most significant deepwater energy developments. Our client is an Operator is seeking an experienced SPS Material & Welding Engineering Specialist to support the Project, a flagship deepwater oil development offshore.


Project Highlights


  • Water depth of approximately 3,000 metres
  • Project CAPEX exceeding USD 10 Billion
  • 38 subsea wells (19 Production & 19 Gas Injection)
  • Drilling campaign exceeding USD 3 Billion
  • Large-scale SPS, SURF, Drilling & FPSO development
  • International project exposure across Malaysia, France, Namibia, UK, Norway and China


About the Role


You will act as the focal point for all Materials, Welding and NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) activities related to the Subsea Production System (SPS) package.


Responsibilities


  • Leading SPS Materials, Welding & NDE activities throughout project execution
  • Reviewing and approving engineering, fabrication and testing documentation
  • Managing welding qualifications, material selection and NDE requirements
  • Supporting tendering, supplier evaluation and contractor management
  • Coordinating QA/QC, risk assessments and technical audits
  • Ensuring compliance with international standards and project specifications
  • Supporting fabrication, installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities


Qualifications


  • Engineering Degree or Master's Degree
  • 15+ years of offshore Oil & Gas experience


Required Skills


  • Strong SPS/Subsea project background
  • Extensive experience in:
  • Welding Engineering
  • Materials Engineering
  • NDE
  • Subsea Production Systems
  • X Trees / Subsea Trees
  • Experience with low alloy steels, weld overlay, buttered connections and super duplex materials preferred
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills within multinational project environments


Assignment Details


  • Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (Residential Role)
  • Start: October 2026 (subject to FID
  • Duration: Minimum 1 year renewable, potentially up to 5 years
  • International travel required
