Sourcing Engineer

Our Team

Molex is seeking a Sourcing Engineer to manage our N ew P roduct Development Sourcing for the DataCom & Specialty Solutions (DSS) d ivis ion. This role will serve as the sourcing single point of contact for the product development teams supporting the sourcing activities of all BOM line items for the assigned product development projects. During the project (s) development you will work with Global Category Management (GCM) and Regional Category Management (RCM) and project t eam s to execute sourcing and supplier strategies.

Molex is seeking an individual with proven technical background skills , the ability to promote cross-functional collaboration between business groups, drive communication and work to foster a culture of innovation providing value to the business with strong technical background . This role will be in Molex Hung Yen plant , Vietnam .

What You Will Do (Job Description)

• Partner with Molex design teams throughout Product Development process to manage BOM cost through Product Launch

• New product supplier identification, sourcing, selection and contracting for the DSS division

• Lead the transition of new and/or existing projects from other sites to Hung Yen plant.

• Bring Design to Value (Manufacturing, Quality, Cost, etc.) viewpoint to Product design teams

• Conduct should-cost and m ake vs. buy analyses to support sourcing decision

• N egotiate terms as required and in accordance with internal policies

• Apply appropriate category strategies in line with preferred suppliers (Metals, Plastics, Electronics, and Outsourcing etc.) to new product sourcing needs

• Proactive supply risk management in the new product development process and initial volume phase.

• Drive supply chain localization in regions.

• Assist RCM team aligned with team's goal and strategy.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's Degree

• 5 or more years ' experience in the P rocurement function focused on direct spending

• 5 years' experience in New Product Development Sourcing

What Will Put You Ahead

• Mechanical Engineering & Manufacturing

Mechanical design, tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA, tooling, stamping, machining, die-casting, or injection molding.

Experience working with mechanical components and manufacturing suppliers.

• CNC Machining & Precision Manufacturing

CNC machining processes, fixture design, precision manufacturing, GD&T, and process capability improvement.

Experience managing suppliers producing high-precision mechanical parts .

• Thermal / Cooling Solutions

Experience in thermal management, liquid cooling, cold plates, heat sinks, or data center cooling applications.

Understanding of thermal performance requirements and cooling system manufacturing processes. .
