Job Summary
The Procurement Executive is responsible for managing purchasing activities, sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating competitive pricing, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services to support business operations. In this role, the candidate must possess basic knowledge of medicines and medical supplies to ensure the accuracy, quality, and compliance of procurement activities in the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely supply of goods, particularly medicines and medical consumables.
- Verify product specifications, including medical items and pharmaceuticals, in line with regulatory and clinical requirements.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and procurement documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to forecast procurement needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, including doctors, pharmacists, and clinical staff.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and trends in medical supplies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and healthcare procurement standards.
- Track and report on key procurement metrics, including cost savings and supplier performance.
- Handle any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing with suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Pharmacy, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Knowledge of medicines, medical consumables, and healthcare products is required.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and procurement-related software/ERP systems.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology, pharmaceutical suppliers, and healthcare procurement standards.
- Experience in managing procurement of medicines, medical equipment, and clinical supplies.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
