About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join the Production Operations team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the stability and evolution of the production environment, from batch scheduling migrations to infrastructure transitions while actively contributing to automation and process improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who thrives in a structured operational environment, takes ownership of their work, and is keen to make a tangible impact on the reliability and efficiency of production systems.
Responsibilities
- Support the planning and execution of batch scheduling migrations and new implementations, ensuring continuity of operations across environments throughout the transition.
- Design and implement batch job solutions that are robust, well-tested, and ready to support production workloads from day one.
- Contribute to infrastructure lift-and-shift projects, working to ensure that workloads are migrated accurately and that operational stability is maintained at every stage of the process.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across Production Operations, reducing manual effort and improving reliability.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to support emerging Production Operations projects, balancing timely delivery with the ongoing operational commitments of the team.
- Document processes, procedures, and knowledge bases clearly and thoroughly, strengthening the team's collective capabilities and supporting continuity of service.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Equivalent practical experience and a strong track record in production or operations environments will also be considered.
- At least 5 years of experience in a production operations, systems engineering, or related role, with demonstrable hands-on experience in batch scheduling and job orchestration platforms such as Control-M, AutoSys, or equivalent tools.
- Prior involvement in infrastructure migration projects — including lift-and-shift exercises or system replatforming is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell is expected, as automation is a core part of this role.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and an understanding of how workloads are managed across on-premises and cloud environments would be an advantage.
- Experience working in an ITIL-aligned or similarly structured operational environment is a plus.
- Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a diligent approach to documentation, and a proven track record of seamless cross-functional collaboration.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and contributing to a team culture that takes operational excellence seriously.
