Job Description

Responsibilities

The role in one sentence

You will turn a working product into a working customer deployment - connecting APIs and data, debugging environments, shipping reliable services, and keeping the customer confident while you do it.

What you will do

Build and maintain integrations with customer APIs, databases, files, identity systems, and other enterprise services.

Develop backend services and integration components in Python, including REST APIs, validation, authentication, retries, logging, and tests.

Help deploy solutions using Docker, CI/CD, cloud services, and infrastructure configuration; support Kubernetes and IaC work as your experience grows.

Troubleshoot the problems that only appear in real environments - DNS, firewalls, routing, VPNs, certificates, permissions, service accounts, and unclear system ownership.

Work with customer data: ingest it, validate it, transform it, and help deliver reliable pipelines or data-backed product features.

Support AI-enabled integrations such as RAG, tool use, MCP-connected workflows, and evaluation/monitoring where relevant.

Write the things future-you will be grateful for: runbooks, architecture notes, API docs, handoff notes, escalation summaries, and clear status updates.

Join customer calls, demos, implementation sessions, and incident discussions. You will not be hidden behind a ticket queue.

What we are looking for

1-3 years of professional experience in software engineering, integrations, backend engineering, data engineering, cloud/infrastructure, or a similar technical role.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.

Comfort with Python, Git, the command line, HTTP/REST, JSON, and basic SQL.

Working understanding of testing, debugging, logs, version control, and how software moves from a laptop into an environment used by other people.

Strong problem-solving habits: reproduce the issue, narrow the cause, document what you know, and escalate with useful evidence.

Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You can explain what is happening without hiding behind jargon.

A customer mindset: curious, calm under pressure, comfortable asking good questions, and willing to own a problem through to a usable outcome.

Useful, but not required

FastAPI or Flask; Docker; a major cloud platform; Terraform; Kubernetes; Airflow, Dagster, dbt, or similar tooling.

Experience with OAuth/OIDC, RBAC, service accounts, enterprise networking, data quality, warehouses/lakes, or observability.

Exposure to LLM applications, vector databases, RAG, MCP, prompt/evaluation workflows, or AI-assisted software development.

What good looks like after 12 months

You can take a defined customer integration from requirements to deployment with limited supervision.

You are trusted to debug issues in customer environments and communicate progress clearly while the problem is still unfolding.

Your code is tested, supportable, and documented - and another engineer can operate what you ship.

Customers see you as a capable technical partner, not simply the person who implements tickets.
