Role Description The Litigation Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Bangsar South Kuala Lumpur. This role involves Civil Litigation and Corporate Commercial Litigation Portolio assisting our Partner in drafting and arguing applications, drafting afidavits, preparing pleadings and other court documents, and managing case files from inception through resolution. The Litigation Associate will conduct legal research, assist with cause papers, prepare for and attend hearing, and support appearances in various courts. The role includes collaborating with partners and team members, communicating with clients, and helping partners to develop case strategies that align with client goals and firm standards.

Qualifications

  • Called to the Malaysian Bar with 0-2 years PQE
  • Strong foundation in Law, with knowledge of civil and commercial litigation principles.
  • Proficiency in drafting and responding to Application, afidavits and litigation pleadings.
  • Excellent Research skills, including case law analysis and statutory interpretation.
  • Experience preparing for and assisting with Depositions and other discovery processes.
  • Familiarity with practice and procedure in local and higher Courts.
  • Strong written and verbal advocacy skills, with attention to detail and clear communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High ethical standards, professional integrity, and client-focused mindset.
  • Prior litigation experience in a law firm or similar setting is an advantage.
