Position Summary
Lead NPI and industrialization activities for photonics products from development through production ramp, working closely with R&D, engineering, contract manufacturers (CMs), and OSATs to ensure manufacturing readiness and delivery against quality, yield, cost, and schedule targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end NPI execution for photonics products, including design transfer, process development, qualification, pilot builds, and production ramp.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across R&D, product engineering, manufacturing, quality, reliability, supply chain, and operations to support successful product launches.
- Work closely with CMs and OSATs across Asia to manage NPI builds, process qualification, tooling, manufacturing readiness, yield improvement, and ramp-up activities.
- Drive readiness of product, process, equipment, tooling, test, and supply chain to support transition into volume manufacturing.
- Establish and track NPI KPIs, including yield, quality, cost, cycle time, and schedule; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
- Identify and manage technical, quality, supply, and schedule risks, ensuring qualification, reliability, audit, and production-readiness requirements are achieved.
- Mentor and develop NPI engineers and project teams, while driving improvements in product transfer, process development, manufacturing ramp, and operational efficiency.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or a related technical discipline, with knowledge of photonics, optoelectronics, semiconductors, or advanced packaging.
- 10+ years of relevant engineering, manufacturing, operations, or NPI experience, including experience leading NPI programs and production ramps.
- Strong understanding of design transfer, process development, assembly, packaging, testing, qualification, yield improvement, and volume manufacturing.
- Experience working with CMs and OSATs, preferably in Asia-based manufacturing environments, including NPI builds, qualification, performance management, and production ramp-up.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, project management, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive NPI programs against quality, cost, yield, and schedule objective.
