Responsibilities

Job Title: SR. OPERATIONS READINESS ASSURANCE ENGINEER

Duration: Yearly renewable contract

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This opportunity sits within Operations Readiness & Assurance and focuses on supporting project delivery through to safe startup and steady-state operations. The role will help ensure offshore production systems are safe, operable, maintainable, and fully prepared for transition from project execution into operations. This position offers broad exposure to operational readiness, risk assurance, commissioning, start-up, asset integrity, and cross-functional stakeholder interface management.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably Marine or Mechanical, or equivalent

Required Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in FPSO operations, asset assurance, or project execution
  • Experience in operational readiness, commissioning, or asset integrity management for offshore oil and gas facilities
  • Experience interfacing with EPCIC contractors and supporting project-to-operations transition activities

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of EPC/EPCIC execution, operations governance, O&M operator interfaces, and marine, flag, and class requirements
  • Strong planning, coordination, and interface management skills
  • Excellent understanding of operations, maintenance, and HSE practices
  • Experience supporting HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS, TRA, and operational risk reviews
  • Ability to assess risks, support mitigation activities, and track actions through to closure
  • Experience verifying readiness of production, marine, utility, and support systems
  • Ability to support handover, acceptance, documentation readiness, punch-list closure, and management of change during transition phases
  • Experience supporting emergency response readiness, drills, exercises, and resilience planning
  • Fluent English
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced project environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate of Competency (CoC): Class 2 Second Engineer >3000 kW Unlimited or minimum Class 4 Watchkeeping Engineer >750 kW Unlimited
  • Certificate of Competency (CoC): Class 1 Chief Officer >3000 kW Unlimited or minimum Class 3 Watchkeeping Officer >750 kW Unlimited
  • Experience working with a major operator client
