About the role

Build and maintain digital services for a public sector client on a modern TypeScript stack: Next.js and React on the frontend, Node.js on the backend, running on AWS. The role spans frontend, backend, infrastructure as code and automated testing, with Singpass and MyInfo integration and WCAG 2.1 accessibility built into delivery.

What you will do

• Build web frontends with Next.js 14, React 18 and TypeScript, using Styled Components,
• React Hook Form, React Leaflet and a React design system component library.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Node.js and TypeScript on Koa or Express.
• Work with MySQL (TypeORM), PostgreSQL, Redis (ioredis), OpenSearch and ActiveMQ.
• Build on AWS services including Lambda, S3, SQS, RDS and ElastiCache; containerise with Docker and Docker Compose and provision infrastructure with Terraform.
• Integrate Singpass and MyInfo, and implement JWT-based authentication in line with government API standards.
• Write automated tests with Jest, React Testing Library, Supertest and Playwright, and maintain code quality with ESLint and Prettier.
• Deliver WCAG 2.1 compliant interfaces, supported by automated accessibility scanning (Oobee).
• Maintain builds and tooling on Node.js 22, npm lockfiles, Webpack and Rollup.

What you bring

• Hands-on full-stack development experience in TypeScript, across Next.js/React frontends and Node.js (Koa or Express) backends.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL with TypeORM, PostgreSQL) and Redis.
• Experience building on AWS (Lambda, S3, SQS, RDS, ElastiCache), with Docker and Terraform.
• Experience with OpenSearch and message queues such as ActiveMQ.
• Experience writing automated tests with Jest, React Testing Library, Supertest and Playwright.
• Working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 accessibility and Singpass/MyInfo integration.

Pay: $6,000.00 - $8,000.00 per month
