JDL Recruitment are delighted to be working exclusively with a rapidly growing AI cloud infrastructure company to find a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their expanding team across Asia Pacific.
The Role
This is a design-led position for an experienced electrical engineer who has been involved in the full lifecycle of large-scale data centre projects, from concept and detailed design through to construction delivery and commissioning. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of high-density, liquid-cooled GPU facilities across the Asia Pacific region, with a focus on Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design of high-density, liquid-cooled AI data centre facilities from concept through to detailed design and construction
- Develop HV/MV power distribution systems, substation design, and primary electrical infrastructure
- Manage and coordinate electrical design packages across internal teams and external design consultants
- Provide technical oversight and support during construction, ensuring design intent is maintained on site
- Lead electrical commissioning activities and ensure facilities are handed over to specification
- Engage with local utility companies, DNOs and regulatory authorities on grid connection and power procurement
- Work closely with mechanical, civil and construction teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Contribute to the development of internal design standards and engineering best practices
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design, with significant exposure to mission-critical or data centre projects
- Strong HV and MV design experience, substation design, switchgear, transformers, power distribution
- Experience across the full project lifecycle: design, construction, and commissioning
- Background in a developer, owner-operator or design consultancy environment
- Familiarity with high-density cooling infrastructure and its impact on electrical systems design
- Experience working across multiple markets in Asia Pacific is advantageous
- Professional engineering registration (PE, CEng or equivalent) preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Location
Flexible across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia or Japan. The role will involve travel across the region.
